Used this takeaway for years every weekend ..now the old owner has left the food is very substandard..poor ingredients and not much taste......take a leaf out the old owners books - good ingredients = Repetitive paying customers.. this place used to be the busiest in gateshead but now it's empty ...sorry but never again - start again guys

Normally go to Yummy Yummy as it's easier to get parked, but they weren't answering their phone for some reason. Thought I would give this place a try instead. Rang up with a simple order of 2 chicken & sweetcorn soups, 1 crabmeat & sweetcorn soup, chicken fried rice & curry sauce, and a bag of prawn crackers. Went to collect and the English lass checked my order I wrote on a scrap of paper, and asked my name. Took the bag, had a quick look inside, 3 cartons the same size were visible so assumed these were the soups. Got home and realised they had not put an extra chicken & sweetcorn soup in the bag, the other carton was the curry sauce. Rang back up and spoke to the English lass again. Was told I had only ordered 1 chicken & sweetcorn soup, despite clearly asking for 2. If they can't get a simple order correct, what's the chance of a more complicated order having stuff missing? Took a menu home when I collected the incorrect order, but ripped it up and binned it. Will try Ocean Cottage again the next time Yummy Yummy are not answering the phone.
Had a fantastic takeaway tonite. Great service. Really lovely flavours in each dish. I had a sirloin steak in a Cantonese sauce which was lush, ribs in chilli and garlic which was just the right blend of flavours. So plsd we went here and have a new favourite place to go now. Gorgeous. Thanks.
