Too many empty units, I'm a non smoker but don't agree with the whole area being smoke free as most of the locals are of a generation that enjoys a cigarette and a natter, it seems a bit quieter since the ban.
Brought a much-needed face-lift to a worn down area of Gateshead. Ideally located for buses and metro at Gateshead Interchange. A range of convenient shops including a large Tesco with plenty of parking spaces.Looks nicer than most Trinity complexes in other towns, complimenting other unique buildings such as The Sage and The Baltic.
There's a lot of parking available here. Many things to choose from as well such as a large supermarket, Burger King, cinema and even a gym. It does get quite busy on the weekends but definitely worth checking out as it's quite easy to spend a whole day here!
Lots of druggies hang around the area. Once I saw some men and a girl one of the men was emptying some brown powder on to a spoon and they weren't even being discreet they were sitting on one of the benches opposite the post office and subway on Jackson Street. More security and stricter rules are definitely need or maybe the current laws/rules of the square just need to be effectively enforced.
