We had afternoon tea, good choice of sandwiches and cakes. Open views across the city with floor to ceiling glass. The guy providing the live music, guitarist, was unobtrusive but very good. Highly recommended if you're in the city for a visit.
We had afternoon tea here. Difficult to get to the 6th floor as the lift is very inefficient. Tea was Ok, as was the service. I have had better afternoon teas elsewhere in the North East. We had a voucher to pay for the teas. Watch out for the added extra of the bottled water. They charge 2 per bottle. We weren't expecting that.
Food was excellent but service was quite slow. Drink selection was good. A flexible set price menu is a significant attractive feature. Ask for a table looking over the Tyne. You must visit the loos!
food absoultely gorgeous highly recommend the steak.. staff are so lovely very friendly and very attentive.. will definitely be back
Upon arrival at the restaurant I was greeted with a sour attitude from the staff asking if we wanted to just admire the view or have a meal. Once we said we were there for a meal they took their time to consider wether or not to seat us in the very quiet restaurant. From here on out the experience just got worse, the staff gave us a very cold experience, we were not offered drinks upon arrival at the table which I would expect from such a high class establishment. It says the average visit is between 1.5-3 hours, this is likely due to how slow the staff are. Given the number of floor staff we should not have waited as long as we did for someone to take our order after having asked if we could order. While ordering we asked for a portion of skin on fries the waiter gave a snobby comment of is that all before listening to the next guest at the table. Once the food arrived we were disappointed in the portion size especially as they had been priced at 3.50 on the menu. There was also an issue that they had far too much salt and vinegar seasoning. When we received the bill we were shocked to find they were priced at 4 a portion! This alongside the random 1 Baltic charge and an additional service charge of 1.05 which the team did not deserve in any way. Overall I would say my visit here was absolutely diabolical! We even heard the staff talking about us from where we were sitting. Keep points, Staff have no manners, food is overpriced and over seasoned, staff are inappropriate in their behaviour.
