Excellent food and a lovely feel to the place. Good selection of drinks and a nice location. Big roaring fire is a nice touch.
A warm welcome ,great atmosphere and fantastic music . Last Sunday I got in touch with The schooner to ask if the nut roast was vegan for my vegan daughter and my husband and I were wanting to visit for Sunday lunch. Ailsa ,the chef, made a fresh vegan nut roast ( the nut roast they usually serve is vegetarian) . This was so lovely , it meant that as a family we could eat out but everyone's tastes were accommodated . The lunch , by the way, beef and vegan dinners were beautiful
Great Management. Lots of live bands especially outdoors in summer. Food was average but worth the cost for pub food. Seems like there is lots going on here, with many events so its worth another check or look at more reviews
Nice friendly local pub with good food & drink at a reasonable price. Really good staff also. This was our first visit & wont be the last even though we live in South Shields.
Traditional pub tucked down behind Gateshead stadium. Even though it's a few yards from an industrial area, it is surprisingly leafy and secluded feeling. Inside its large, comfy, really good selection of beers and ciders, food is good and great value for money. Recommended
